Rezt&Relax Director's Profile: Mr. Wilson Teh

It has been said that big things come from humble beginnings and this is definitely true for the Managing Director of Rezt & Relax Interior, our very own, Mr. Wilson Teh. Before attaining the success that he has right now, he and his family struggled to fight life’s hardships through hard work and perseverance.

He was just seven when his father died of kidney failure and brain hemorrhage so at this early stage Mr. Teh had learned how to be smart and how to find ways to reach his life goals. His mother, who was only 35 when his father passed away, taught Wilson how to be business smart at his very young age. Accepting laundry service from households didn’t bring enough income for the family when the father died so Wilson’s mom had decided to sell costume jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets illegally at a pedestrian bridge in Orchard road. Little Wilson, as young as he was, helped his mother by travelling from his school in Bedok to Orchard to assist his mom in selling the jewelries.  When he reached the age of 10, he already had his own stall outside Centrepoint and that started his passion in investing and business.

Having his own stall in Centrepoint wasn’t enough for Mr. Teh and so when a few friends of his run decided to run their own stalls in two other areas in the city, he earned income by supplying goods for them as the middleman. This idea was his inspiration in how he runs his business now. When his employees opted to run their own businesses after a few years and he knows that they are hard-working enough to keep the business running, he eagerly show his support by taking equity stakes in their firms. At this date, Mr. Wilson is a significant shareholder and director of four of his former employees.

Wilson Teh had also experienced being a door-to-door salesman of skin-care products for five years after completing his National Service. He joined an interior design firm for two years after that and in the year 2000 he decided to venture out and run his own interior design business with his colleague Mr. John Foo who is also one of Rezt & Relax Interior’s Managing Director.

Investing in businesses and working hard to make it grow run in Mr. Teh’s blood. He learned the importance of investing money and he plans to invest more in the future by buying more residential properties for him and his family.

Mr. Wilson Teh is now a loving husband of Ma Li Li and a happy father of 4 kids namely Jovan, Vicki, Sarah and Macy.
